I was talking with a client the other day about what the real goal of an ERP implementation is. And in the middle of the conversation, it hit me. As much as I\u2019ve tried to dress it up over the years with methodology talk and solution architecture diagrams, the truth is actually pretty simple:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We\u2019re trying to implement a system that you forget it’s there<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Now that might sound strange coming from someone who works with Dynamics 365 Business Central<\/a><\/strong> every day, but it\u2019s true.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s be honest here, ERP software or any business management software isn\u2019t fun to use. No one wakes up on a Saturday morning thinking, \u201cHey! Let\u2019s go play around in Business Central today.\u201d That\u2019s not how the normal world works. Most people just want to do their job, not do data entry full time or analyze what the figures in the dashboard means.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Good Ones<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The best-run businesses aren\u2019t ones where users avoid the system entirely, in fact, they do<\/strong> use it. The difference is that it\u2019s so in sync with what they do every day that they don\u2019t have to think about it. The process feels natural. They move through their tasks without friction.
